Another Linux Patent Deal. This Time It’s Kyocera Mita Corp.
What the…?
This one looks similar to the Samsung and Fuji Xerox deals. It is about embedded devices.
Agreement will cover intellectual property contained in hardware and software products, including certain Linux-based technologies.
Which patents does Kyocera Mita allegedly infringe on? It’s safe to say that Kyocera Mita did not even ask and Microsoft would not say because, according to Microsoft, it requires too much paper.
Hey, Novell, didn’t you insist your stupid (and seminal) deal had nothing to do with patents? A lot of this can be blamed on you setting a precedence, just as Bruce Perens and others have predicted from the very start.
Highlight: Novell was the first to acknowledge that Microsoft FUD tactics had substance. Novell then used anti-Linux FUD to market itself. 
Highlight: Xandros let Microsoft make patent claims and brag about (paid-for) OOXML support. 
Highlight: Linspire's CEO not only fell into Microsoft arms, but he also assisted the company's attack on GNU/Linux. 
Highlight: Microsoft craves pseudo (proprietary) standards and gets its way using proxies and influence which it buys. 
Highlight: The invasion into the open source world is intended to leave Linux companies neglected, due to financial incentives from Microsoft. 
Analysis: Xen, an open source hypervisor, possibly fell victim to Microsoft's aggressive (and stealthy) acquisition-by-proxy strategy.

Somehow, when I saw there were comments, I just KNEW at least one was going to be a useless ad-hom from eet, contributing nothing of substance. It would be different if he/she were making intelligent rebuttals. Roy, it’s making your site nearly unreadable

Also your ‘caricatures’ remind me very strongly of the horrible anti-Jewish propaganda cartoons in Germany 1920-1945. They are in really, really bad taste and one of the reasons why I don’t respect you and your aims in the least.

A victorious, jubilant, advocacy-related activity is what I do outside this site. But complacency is a huge danger, especially when Microsoft has a shrewd strategy for pulling the carpet from under competitors’ feet. Without awareness, Microsoft will get its way.

If I’d point a few Windows-users who contemplate switching to Linux to your site they’d instantly dismiss the idea because they wouldn’t want to be involved with all the idiocy and paranoia that is having a bawl here.
Myself, I feel more and more sympathy for M$, the more I read of your blog.
