Highlight: The invasion into the open source world is intended to leave Linux companies neglected, due to financial incentives from Microsoft. 
Analysis: Xen, an open source hypervisor, possibly fell victim to Microsoft's aggressive (and stealthy) acquisition-by-proxy strategy.

News from Sun on the progress of the OOXML import filters:
“We will enhance the feature set and quality [..] to achieve a similar coverage as we have in our filters for the Microsoft binary file formats [..]
“While the feature set of the Word docx filter is nearly feature complete”
