HUGHES Telematics is developing an advanced end-to-end telematics solution that will embrace a next-generation telematics architecture, which will be largely enabled by Wind River’s open operating system and hypervisor technology. Wind River’s solution will reduce development and hardware costs and increase the system’s functionality. HUGHES Telematics will begin rolling out its telematics solution in 2009.

- Linux SDIO stack targets ARM SoCs
Chennai, India-based EmbWise has ported its Linux SDIO stack to two ARM-based system-on-chips (SoCs). Its SDIOWorx stack is now available for Freescale’s i.MX31 and i.MX27 multimedia SoCs, which are primarily targeted at the personal media player (PMP), personal navigation device (PND), and video surveillance camera markets, says EmbWise.
