Seems Red Hat is also down 7% (more than Microsoft, which is actually only down 6.74%), as are IBM (down 5%) and Sun Microsystems (down 10.45%).

I’m not sure you can say it leaves them in a “good position”.
Debian and the FSF are funded as well, and the fact that they’re set up as American non-profits doesn’t insulate them from the financial problems.

Personal life and professional life are not the same thing. If someone works for Novell, for example, it’s only fair to point it out.
