The debian-private mailing list leak, part 1. Volunteers have complained about Blackmail. Lynchings. Character assassination. Defamation. Cyberbullying. Volunteers who gave many years of their lives are picked out at random for cruel social experiments. The former DPL's girlfriend Molly de Blanc is given volunteers to experiment on for her crazy talks. These volunteers never consented to be used like lab rats. We don't either. debian-private can no longer be a safe space for the cabal. Let these monsters have nowhere to hide. Volunteers are not disposable. We stand with the victims.

Re: Security: How we did it

Debian policy says "no security through obscurity". In part this is to
encourage us to fix the problems as fast as they come up. I do agree
that they should be discussed on debian-private, but we can't guarantee
that the nasty people don't have access to this information.

This is a fine policy for a campus. Unfortunately many of our users only
have space and funds for one computer. Note that one of the key 68k developers
will leave that port because he got a 386 and doesn't have room for the Amiga
any longer.

Christoph, I understand that you don't want to deal with these security
problems. However I don't feel its a good idea for the project as a whole
to take a lassez-faire (pardon my spelling) attitude toward them.

In the case of dosemu, it should be passed to another maintainer who can
perform a thorough security review, as soon as we can find such a person.
I understand it may have some serious privilege issues because it can provide
direct access to hardware, bypassing Linux.

	Thanks
