The debian-private mailing list leak, part 1. Volunteers have complained about Blackmail. Lynchings. Character assassination. Defamation. Cyberbullying. Volunteers who gave many years of their lives are picked out at random for cruel social experiments. The former DPL's girlfriend Molly de Blanc is given volunteers to experiment on for her crazy talks. These volunteers never consented to be used like lab rats. We don't either. debian-private can no longer be a safe space for the cabal. Let these monsters have nowhere to hide. Volunteers are not disposable. We stand with the victims.

I respect these goals but I don't personally care about them too much. I
use Linux not to prove some anti-Microsoft point (I'm a Microsoft
Certified Solution Developer) or out of starry-eyed idealism but because
it works. It lets me do my work with exceptional ease. If I needed
commercial apps to do something I'd pay the money without a second
thought. It's the package system that to me is the most attractive
feature of Debian. I started my Linux career with Slackware but in the
process of upgrading to ELF, completely ruined my system. That's when I
began looking at other distributions and the way Debian did things just
seemed better than Red Hats way. If we're going to go with .rpms, I would
simply stop using Debian and switch to Caldera.

I heartily agree with all those who think we just need an easier front-end
to the packaging system.
