US Department of Justice and States (Attorney Generals) Must Not Lose Sight of Microsoft Crimes Just Because Apple is Grotesque
"They [Microsoft] have the deepest of pockets, unlimited ambition, and they are willing to lose money for years and years just to make sure that you don't make any money, either. And they are mean, REALLY mean."
--Robert X. Cringely
Essential background: Microsoft's Total Debt Soars to $111.4 Billion Dollars (an Increase by $32,000,000,000 in Only 6 Months!)
The other day we mentioned how GAFAM as a concept helps Microsoft deflect and distract. "So now with Google's case finishing up and Apple now heading into court, Microsoft can continue to operate illegally unimpaired," an associate explained.
Microsoft is (and has long been) a form of organised crime that also infiltrates rivals and regulators, in turn turning the watchdogs or counterparts into lapdogs or collaborators, respectively. As The Economic Times put it the other day, "Microsoft agreed to pay Inflection $650 million while hiring its staff" (remember what Microsoft did to Borland and to i4i).
"Tech giant Microsoft will be paying artificial intelligence (AI) startup Inflection $650 million," another article said "a week after it roped in the company's two cofounders and most of its staff, as per a Bloomberg report."
The regulators are far too slow to investigate what Microsoft did to "Open" "AI" (there is already a private lawsuit over it, coming from Elon Musk), so Microsoft does this again and again. Here in our realm of Free software, Microsoft did this to Red Hat and Canonical. Of course the Linux Foundation is too bribed to say anything about it. No company has more board seats there than Microsoft! █
