Summary: The German legal journal GRUR reveals that Team UPC has plans that would definitely insult the Italians; it reaffirms the bias of the proposed system, which is pretty much dead at this stage (but they'll carry on trying regardless)

ACCORDING TO THE new Tilmann article in GRUR (included as snippet above and in full below for access to all, in the public's interest), Team UPC is up to new mischief. In fact, they envision that the UPC court ('branch') reserved for London will slip to Paris instead of Milan, which certainly should upset the Italians like it upset the Spaniards (whose language was also discarded). What's this snub all about?

Former European Patent Office (EPO) dictator Benoît Battistelli, according to rumours, had plans of becoming 'king' of UPC.

From the new article (human translation): "For this reason, the Central Chamber of Paris has to take over the tasks of the London branch until further notice without any regulation being necessary. The next time the UPC needs to be ratified, a decision can then be made about any further outsourcing of this or another part of the competency to another contracting member state."
